🌟 Izayoi and Ruruka have been together every day since they were children, far back enough that neither can really remember when they began keeping each other company.
🌟 Ruruka used to get bullied a lot as a child because of her home life, and overly possessive/frightened attitude, which lead Izayoi to be her constant companion and protector.
🌟 She invests all of her being and ability into her talent and takes it as the only real value to herself, which is why when someone can't/wont eat her sweats, she finds herself feeling resentful. It begins as being upset because she views it as the only thing she can do for people, but it eventually grows into her pushing the limits of her friendships with others. As if testing and trying to make the person betray her, even if she secretly doesn't want it to happen, but when it does it thereby confirms her own self-loathing beliefs that her confections are the only good thing about her (If people won't eat her sweets, they'll have no reason to love her). This combined with abandonment issues and the right amount of pressure, her whole world basically crumbles.
🌟 She truly wanted to be friends with Seiko, but because of her insecurities, their relationship eventually fell apart.
🌟 Sugar free candy isn't an option, ignoring the fact that a sugar allergy is impossible, if someone couldn't digest normal sugar; artificial sugars would also be processed in similar ways in the body and cause the same reaction.
🌟 Ruruka basically spends all of her days in Izayoi's shop, or at his place.
🌟 No matter what, one of them was going to die attempting to escape; either Izayoi would starve to death or have to betray her eventually, as far as they knew.
🌟 Ruruka suffers from a pathological fear of being betrayed, which probably stems from something in her past, that is as of yet said-- but she is also terrified of being alone. In every instance she is either with Yoi, or when he had passed, she attached herself to new people. When she was finally, entirely alone, she completely lost her composure, unable to function out of fear. Because of this I think she isn't able to be alone, in addition to her fear of betrayal, which was only amped up by Juzo's death.
🌟 Ruruka never drugged Izayoi; it's a popular theory but I think it doesn't work for a few reasons. Mainly being considering how fast it was theorized to wear off (less than two days) it would mean the pair of them couldn't be apart for more than two days, considering they lead two different branches and everything else going on, it's not possible she could feed him constantly in the years and years they've known each other. Never mind the fact that he still protects her and comes to her aid during the conflict with Seiko, and would have built a heavy tolerance over time.
🌟 Ruruka has a few fear-triggered sexual hangups and requires a patient and understanding partner. This can be played out for drama or H/C scenes.
🌟 Ruruka's sharp outward attitude and "bitchy" demeanor are more a improper self-preservation/defensive tactic. It works by keeping people at arms length, thus ensuring they cannot become close enough for a betrayal to be viable.
🌟 Her favorite flavor is strawberry.🍓
🌟 Izayoi makes all of Rurukas cooking instruments; they are all custom, one of a kind and tailored to her needs.
🌟They often cook dinner together, and Ruruka likes to fawn over Izayoi's knife skills. She once attempted the same thing and ended up with bandaid covered hands.
